The properties of Hydrogen have long since been regarded as an ideal source of clean sustainable energy.
The renewable energy revolution is evolving as we search of energy sources that are considered cleaner than traditional fossil fuel materials. Progress has been stifled however as innovation has yet to develop storage solutions to safely contain and convert hydrogen into energy at acceptable levels of cost.
Storage and transportation of hydrogen is presently maintained through highly pressurized gas cylinders. Under such volatile conditions suppliers and users are subject to major risks presenting obvious health and safety obstacles.
Compound metal alloys
SSEC Energy's research into the development of alternative hydrogen storage and transportation solutions has analyzed the benefits of using compound metal alloys that are reacted with hydrogen under controlled conditions.
The results so far have created a stable solid in powder form that is able to store hydrogen chemically with less exposure to health and safety risk. Other benefits at the current stage are being explored as the storage solution has to potential to contain larger energy densities than existing technologies permit.
